ABOUT THE PROJECT
New Orleans Hip Hop History is dedicated to documenting and preserving the rich Hip Hop culture of the crescent city. Told through the eyes of the pioneers and influencers, the project comprises a series of monthly podcasts that integrates oral history, archival footage, digital still phots, and live performances. The project will culminate with a feature length documentary for theatrical and digital distribution at film festivals. The film will also be available for college and community tours and screenings. A curriculum accompanying the NOLA Hip Hop History project will be available for public and home school kids.
The NOLA Hip Hop History project is directed by international award winning filmmaker and music video pioneer, Will Horton. The project also engages media and film students from local colleges and universities to work alongside industry professionals.
